MAJESTY OF NEW ZEALAND
8 Days / 7 Nights

Day 1 - AUCKLAND / WAITOMO / ROTORUA
Travel south over the Bombay Hills, following the Waikato River to Hamilton, then on via Te Awamutu to Waitomo. Enjoy a buffet lunch before visiting the Waitomo Caves. Tours to the caves include the magical boat-ride through the Glow- worm Grotto. Continue on via Lake Karapiro to arrive in Rotorua. This evening enjoy a Maori Hangi (feast) and concert.

Day 2 - ROTORUA SIGHTSEEING

Rotorua is the centre of the geothermal region of New Zealand and is also the main centre for Maori culture. Boiling mud, geysers and silica deposits surrounding the lake attract visitors from all over the world. Enjoy a half day thermal tour - visit Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve, Rainbow Springs & Farm Show and lake Rotorua.
This afternoon is at leisure. Perhaps take a tour to Mt Tarawera or the Buried Village or enjoy a swim at the Polynesian Spa (own expense).

Day 3 - ROTORUA / CHRISTCHURCH

(Airfare not included)
Today fly from Rotorua over the majestic Southern Alps to Christchurch. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 4 - CHRISTCHURCH / MT COOK
From Christchurch travel South across the Canterbury Plains, through farming communities before climbing up to high plains of the McKenzie Country, pausing at the Church of the Good Shepherd to view Lake Tekapo. Continue to Mount Cook village nestled under New Zealand's highest mountain, Mt Cook. The mountain overlooks a network of glaciers that feed Lakes Tekapo and Pukaki. From the park headquarters in Mount Cook village there are a number of activities including walks, tramps and scenic flights that will enable views of Mt Cook and the glaciers (own expense).

Day 5 - MOUNT COOK / QUEENSTOWN
From Mount Cook return along the length of Lake Pukaki then head South through Twizel and Omarama to the scenic Lindis Pass. Once over the pass follow the Clutha Valley to its junction with the Kawarau Gorge at Cromwell. Queenstown is reached by following the "gold trail" alongside the winding Kawarau River. Queenstown nestles up to ~e northern shore of Lake Wakatipu from where it commands an expansive view of the peaks which surround the lake.

Day 6 - MILFORD SOUND DAY EXCURSION

Drive through the magnificent beech forests of the Eglington and Hollyford Valleys, through the Homer Tunnel to Milford Sound for a launch excursion on the fiord. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery including the awe- inspiring Mitre Peak with a full commentary on the natural history of the fiord. Lunch is included. Upon conclusion return to Queenstown.

Day 7 - QUEENSTOWN
Today is free to enjoy the many leisure pursuits. The local staff at" The Station" can assist with information and reservations for the huge selection of things to see and do.

Day 8 - QUEENSTOWN

Your tour arrangements conclude this morning.
Coach options (or air) to Christchurch or further afield available on request - additional charge.
