• A freecall 0800 Helpline providing 24 hour roadside assistance throughout New Zealand

CALCULATING THE RATES
Rates are calculated on a daily basis. The day of pick up is counted as Day 1 and the day of drop off is the last day regardless of the time of pick up and drop off.

MINIMUM HIRE PERIOD

• For all rentals there is a minimum hire period of seven (7) days

• For one way hires between Christchurch and Auckland or vice versa the minimum hire period is fourteen (14) days.

MULTIPLE RENTALS
Multiple rentals can be combined to qualify for the Long Term Hire Discounts indicated in the rates.

CANCELLATIONS, TRANSFERS & AMENDMENTS
Cancellation following confirmation will incur a US$100.00 cancellation fee of which US$50.00 is to be sent to us and US$50.00 to be retained by the Agent.

Cancellation fees are as follows:
29 days and over: US$100
20 - 28 days:  20% (or deposit, whichever is greater)
10 - 19 days:  40 % of total reservation cost
1 - 9 days:  75 % of total reservation cost
No Show:  100 %   of total reservation cost

• Transferring a booking once confirmed, will incur a US$25.00 fee unless it is within 30 days of travel, when the above cancellation charges apply.  A booking can only be transferred to a maximum of 6 months before or after the original date of travel.

• Amendments to increase the length of the booking can be made at no cost.

• Amendments to decrease the booking will incur a US$25.00 fee unless it is within 30 days of travel when the above cancellation charges will apply.

• It is important to note that United may at its discretion treat any amendment to decrease the booking as a cancellation.

• Change of Drop Off destination, once hire has commenced, is always subject to approval by United Campervans and may incur the full cost of repositioning the vehicle to the original destination reserved.

INSURANCE - STANDARD RATES

• Insurance is NOT INCLUDED in the daily rates and is compulsory. 

• Insurance is an additional US$20.00 per day and payable at the commencement of the hire at one of the United Campervans Depots.

• The insurance covers the vehicle for Third Party property and Public Liability to US$1,000,000.

BOND

• Drivers 25 years and older are required to pay a bond of US$1200 at the commencement of the hire.  This bond is to cover the petrol and the insurance excess in the event of an accident.

• Drivers under the age of 25 years are required to pay a bond of US$2400. 

• Credit cards we accept are American Express, Visa, Bankcard and Mastercard.   A credit card imprint only is taken. No amount will be debited against the credit card on Pick Up.  However, in the event of an accident, the full bond of $1200 will be uplifted immediately and any balance refunded only after full and final costs have been established and deducted.

• The bond is fully refundable when the vehicle is returned on the due drop off date, at the agreed drop off depot, in a clean, undamaged condition, with a full tank of fuel and empty toilet cassette.

BOND WAIVER INSURANCE

• Bond Waiver Insurance is offered as an optional extra at a fixed rate of US$12.00 per day for hirers 25 years and older and US$24.00 per day for hirers under the age of 25 years.  This is available only on hires of 10 days or longer.  Bond Waiver Insurance ensures that with any accident there is no loss of bond.   Bond Waiver Insurance is payable at the commencement of the hire direct to United Campervans.

• PLEASE NOTE: a signed credit card imprint will still be taken for a fuel and cleaning bond to a maximum of US$100.

INSURANCE EXCLUSIONS

• Tyres and punctures are not covered by Insurance and are to be repaired/replaced at the hirer's cost.

• Windscreen repairs and/or replacement are not covered by Insurance unless the hirer has purchased Bond Waiver Insurance.

• The hirer will be fully liable for any damage to the United vehicle or Third Party property if:
  - the terms of the Rental Agreement entered into with United Campervans are breached
  - damage is caused while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  - the vehicle is driven on restricted roads
  - damage is due to careless, wilful or reckless driving
  - negligence, or other act of the hirer results in water submersion or salt water damage

ON ROAD ASSISTANCE
It is a client obligation to contact United Campervans should any problems be experienced with the vehicle.
United Campervans offers a 24 hour telephone number for On-Road Assistance in case of accidents or breakdowns  -  0800 759 919.   

ONE WAY HIRES
One way hires are possible between Auckland and Christchurch and vice versa providing the rental period is a minimum of 14 days.  On some occasions, special circumstances may apply and for purposes of re-positioning vehicles this time limit may be reduced, subject to permission from United Campervans.  Agents should apply direct to United reservations in Auckland.

DRIVER REQUIREMENTS
All drivers must be 21 years of age or older and hold a current valid driver's licence, to be produced at the start of the hire.  An international or country of origin licence is acceptable.  No special licence is required to drive United Campervans and Motorhomes in New Zealand.  There is no maximum age limit.

TRAFFIC INFRINGEMENTS
All traffic infringements are the responsibility of the hirer. United reserves the right to pass on details of the hirer's home contact to the New Zealand Traffic authorities.

VEHICLE SUBSTITUTION AND DESIGN
We shall make every effort to provide the vehicle requested, but where a vehicle is unavailable for any reason we reserve the right to provide a comparably high standard vehicle at no extra cost to your client.  While including the same facilities, vehicle layouts may vary slightly to those shown due to manufacturer's design changes.

TRANSFERS - AUCKLAND
Arrival: Complimentary transfers between the Airport and Depot are available on the Airbus, which operates every 30 minutes on the 1/4 hour  outside Door 8 of the International Airport and then outside the Domestic Terminals.   Clients should take the Airbus going to Hotel Grand Chancellor/ Airport Centra Hotel, but MUST inform the driver that they wish to go to United Campervans Depot. 

For transfers from Downtown Auckland Hotels, clients may use a taxi and will be reimbursed for the cost.  United request that clients use Discount Taxis, Telephone 529 1000.  Your clients must obtain a receipt from the driver and present it to us for reimbursement.

Departure:  Complimentary transfers are available to the Airport by the Airbus.   United does not provide complimentary transfers to other locations but will be happy to arrange a taxi for clients.

TRANSFERS - CHRISTCHURCH
Arrival: a free taxi / shuttle transfer is available to the United depot from the Airport or City hotels.   Your clients should obtain a receipt from the driver and present it to us for reimbursement of the cost.

Departure: Complimentary transfers are not provided following termination of the hire; however United will be happy to arrange a taxi for clients.

ROAD USER CHARGE / DIESEL TAX
United does NOT charge clients for the New Zealand Road User Charge / Diesel Tax

ROAD RESTRICTIONS
Clients are permitted to drive their vehicle on any road in New Zealand except the following which are prohibited in all circumstances:

North Island:
Ninety Mile Beach - Northland
North of Colville Township - Coromandel Peninsula

South Island:
Skippers Canyon Road - Queenstown
Ball Hutt Road - Mt Cook
