TERMS and CONDITIONS

Standard rates include:

• Unlimited kilometres for all vehicle types
• Courtesy Airport/ Hotel transfers before and after your hire are included in the price
• Multiple windscreen and tyre cover are included in the minimum insurance
• All the appliance gas you use
• Free starter pack including refreshments, Regional and activities guide
• Comprehensive road atlas supplied on loan
• Nationwide road side service and freephone helpline
   

Insurance: US$15.00 per day compulsory insurance to be paid upon collection of vehicle.

Insurance Excess: There is an excess (bond) of US$1500 (Bond is $2500 for drivers under 25 Years of age).

Bond: When you collect your vehicle we take an impression of your credit card for the bond of US$1500. This is the insurance excess for any single accident which may occur during your holiday and for which you are deemed to be at fault. Drivers aged 21-24 Years the bond is $2500. (We do not deduct the Bond from your Bank account at the start of your hire) The impression of your credit card covers your accident-damage bond liability plus any extra costs such as fuel fill-up and emptying of the toilet at the end of hire or any traffic infringements, losses or breakages. A credit card imprint must be on all rental agreements and must be the credit card of the main hirer unless prior arrangements have been made. We do not deduct the bond from the credit card, but merely hold the authority to deduct it in the unfortunate event of an accident. Where a credit card is not available, a cash bond will be held by Pacific Horizon for 21 Days following hire.

Bond Waiver: You can choose to pay a non-refundable bond waiver of US$20/Day. This reduces the bond holding to nil and is on a per incident basis. A new waiver is required for the remaining days of hire after an accident has happened, therefore you must report it to Pacific Horizon. Failure to report any incident to Pacific Horizon may result in the total Bond waiver being taken again. Bond waiver does not cover articles, appliances and fixtures inside the Motorhome unless in the case of Motor accident. Bond waiver is also not available for drivers under 25 Years of age. A credit card imprint must be on all rental agreements and must be the credit card of the main hirer unless prior arrangements have been made.

Minimum Rental Duration: 7 days. Collect from 8 am onwards on your first day of hire and return no later than 6 pm on the last day. Days of hire are calculated on the number of actual calendar days you have the Motorhome.

Airport and hotel transfers. A complimentary shuttle will pick you up from the airport, ferry or hotel and return you there after your hire.

Complimentary starter pack. You receive a travel pack which includes: • Coffee/Tea refreshments • Regional maps, and information guide booklets • Guide to camping ground locations • Brochures on places of scenic interest •Comprehensive Road atlas (on loan)• Driver’s Handbook • Motorhome Manual and Traffic Rules.

Discounts for long hire. If you hire for 21 days or more ask about the ‘Long hire discounts’ you are entitled to.

One way hiring. Pacific Horizon has 4 fully operational terminals allowing one-way hire at no extra cost. You must however start and finish your hire at whichever terminal is nominated on your rental agreement. Change of destination must be authorised by Pacific Horizon management and a relocation fee of up to NZ$750 will apply.

Driving your Motorhome. The speed limit on the open road is 100 kph (60 mph). 80 kph is the recommended limit for your Motorhome. For the Eclipse 4+2 and Eclipse 6, the speed limit is 90kph. In built-up areas the limit is 50 kph (30 mph).

Driving fines If you are fined or penalised for breaching any traffic laws, you are liable for the fine and/or associated administration costs

Cancellations. There is a cancellation fee of US$50 for bookings cancelled after reservations have been confirmed. The US$200 deposit is forfeited if bookings are cancelled within 21 days of departure. 50% of the hire costs will be taken for cancellations within 14 days of the start of the hire. No refunds for cancellations made after the travel or travel date has commenced. Major Credit Cards accepted: MasterCard, Visa, Amex and Diners Club.
