Thrifty Car Rentals – Terms & Conditions

The following is a summary of Thrifty Terms & Conditions – refer to contract at Thrifty counter for full terms and conditions. Rates and conditions are subject to change without notice. (Rates mentioned in Terms & Conditions exclude GST).

RATES INCLUDE:

• Rental Car hire on an unlimited kilometre basis

• Vehicle Insurance (subject to accident damage excess of US$2500 + GST

• Car delivery to airport or clients accommodation.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Accident Damage Excess & Bond:
US$2500 + GST Accident Damage Excess (ADE) applies.  The bond of US$2500 + GST which is the excess is payable at commencement of hire & is refunded in full upon return of vehicle in clean condition with no damage to vehicle or third party property.

Accident Excess Reduction:

Accident Excess Reduction (AER) is available to reduce the insurance excess as listed below.

This is payable at the Thrifty Rental counter at the commencement of your hire.

1)    Groups ECMR – FWAR to reduce excess to US$200 + GST

$15.00 + GST per day

$75.00 + GST per week (7 days)

$300.00 + GST per month (28-30 days)

2)    Groups IFAR, LVAR & XVAR to reduce excess to US$250 + GST

$17.00 + GST per day

$85.00 + GST per week (7 days)

$340.00 + GST per month (28-30 days)

         3)   Groups LTAR & LDAR to reduce excess to US$500 + GST
                $17.00 + GST per day
                $85.00 + GST per week (7 days)

Rates:
Rental days are calculated on a 24 hour basis. When returning the vehicle Thrifty allows a grace period of 59 minutes after which an extra full day will be charged.

Rental Minimum:
Each rental must be for a minimum of three or more consecutive days.

Inter-Island Rentals:
On inter-city (one way) rentals involving both North & South Islands, vehicles cannot be taken on the inter-island ferry. Renters must leave their vehicle on one island and collect another rental vehicle on the next island. Each rental must be for a minimum of three days and the second or subsequent rentals must be picked up within 24 hours of returning the previous rental.

Inter-City (one way) Rentals:
A one way rental fee does not apply provided the rental extends for a minimum of 3 consecutive days on any given island.
