Le Méridien Tahiti History

Opened in July 1998, Le Méridien Tahiti is the first resort in Tahiti located along the beach of the picturesque Punaauia region on the main island which is considered by aficionados as one of the most beautiful sites in Tahiti. It offers one of the most exquisite views of Moorea, in an environment surrounded by majestic mountains, in proximity of the international Faa'a Airport (10 km), the capital Papeete (15 km), the Atimaono International Golf Course (10 km) but also 5 minutes from The Tahiti & her Islands Museum and 10 mn from the botanical gardens and the Gauguin Museum.

LE FARE TE MOANA beach restaurant serves a much more relaxed type of cusine composed of grilled meats, fish and seafood.
Open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Breakfast : 10 to 11 a.m.
Lunch a la carte : 12 to 3 p.m. • Sunset cocktails : 5 to 7 p.m.

La Plantation

LA PLANTATION, our gastronomic restaurant, offers a very large variety of specialties combining the subtleties of French cuisine and the original, exotic savors of Polynesian cuisine.

Dinner : 7 to 10 p.m.

The Rendez-vous at La Plantation :
Friday, buffet and Polynesian dance show;
Saturday, "Guinguette Night", with regional French cuisine and entertainment.

L' Astrolabe

L'ASTROLABE, in its quiet, refined setting, serves delicious cocktails while you listen to the rhythms of piano jazz. The Jazz Club is a weekly gathering of jazz fans a l'Astrolabe bar each Saturday evening at 9.30 p.m. 

Each month the Jazz Club invites a musical artist or group of international renown for a series of exceptional concerts

Friday Night : Entertainment by local groups

Open Monday to Saturday from 4.30 p.m. to 12 a.m. and on Sunday from 11a.m. to 12 a.m.

A crowning feature of the resort is a stunning 2000 sq-metre swimming pool with a sand covered bottom, believed to be the largest of its kind in the world. The hotel also has a tennis court and a landscape lawn for regular games of pétanque, beach volley and ping-pong.  The hotel bus, [Le Méridien Truck] is free of charge, and at your disposition twice a day if you wish to go shopping in Papeete.
